PROJECT
The Project intends to propose a triennium cycle of lectures and workshops concerning the medieval literatures under a comparative and interdisciplinary point of view, by lecture of the pertinent manuscripts, to be analysed in situ, and application of advanced electronic tools.
Topics of the teaching will be: the analysis of the relationship between medieval literatures of different languages, particularly between Western and Eastern Middle Ages; the relationship between poetry and music in the Middle Ages; the study about the writing supports (manuscript, book, stone, materials) and the contribution by the digital technologies (tools for text-analysis, data-bases and textual concordances, software for text-retrieval, software for scanning and adjustement of images, digital editions, hypertexts, thematic networks on the Middle Ages, etc.) to the development of these knowledges and the recovery of texts and images from the old manuscripts through the virtual restoration and the computing implementation for philology. The first course has been held in Burgos, July 2003; the second is scheduled in Paris 2005, the third in Arezzo 2006.
